John Curtis (1791–1862 war ein britischer Entomologe und Illustrator. Er lernte in der Werkstatt seines Vaters Charles Curtis das Kupferstechen. Im Alter von 16 Jahren begann er eine Ausbildung bei einem lokalen Anwaltsbüro und widmete seine Freizeit Studien und Zeichnungen von Insekten. Mit dem Wachsen seiner Insektensammlung kam er auf die Idee, damit sein Geld zu verdienen und ging nach London, wo er der wohl erste Entomologe wurde. – Das Papier nur vereinzelt gebräunt und stoclkfleckig. Die Einbände mit neuen Vorsätzen, die Rücken mit dem alten Material restauriert.
