‎The first latin work on geography, here edited by the Dutch philologist Abraham Gronovius (1695-1775). The Spaniard Pomponius Mela wrote his description of the world (known as De chorographia or De situ orbis) about AD 44. It remained influential until the Reanaissance and its voyages of explorations.
