2008 704 p., numerous figures and small distribution maps, paperbound. The additional (optional) CD-ROM not present. Very good copy of this out of print title. This book deals with the timber trees of Tropical Africa and describes 511 species belonging to a selection of 25 botanical families. They are described in 280 review articles, implying that 231 species are briefly mentioned and described in the articles of more important related species; they have no separate article due to lack of information.
1793 (2nd ed.) 2 volumes (complete). xxiv, 882 p., contemporary full calf (much worn, volume two missing spine). Library stamps on volume one reads: ''Cochinchine, service de santé, pharmacien en chef'', and also it is written through the title: ''Bibliothèque de la Pharmacie''. Library stamps on volume two also but very faint. So apparently this copy went to Vietnam and returned to Europe. There are several old annotations in the text. Last third of the text of volume one with a waterstain, and volume two also with waterstain mostly marginal. Should be rebound, but otherwise a complete copy of the scarce second edition (''Denuo in Germania edita cum notis Caroli Ludovici Willdenow'').
