Rare.Cornelis Gijsbert Gerrit Jan van Steenis (1901-1986) was a Dutch botanist. Very active in the study of Indonesian (Asian) plants, and was responsible for editing the series Flora Malesiana. He was professor in tropical botany in Amsterdam and Leiden, and also director of the Dutch National Herbarium.
