Ce volume pr sente une tude de l'iconographie de l'Epistre Othea de Christine de Pizan dans le manuscrit 606 du fonds fran ais de la Biblioth que nationale de France. Compos par Christine vers 1400, l'Epistre Othea est un prosim tre la forme complexe, dans lequel le sens est le produit des relations qui s' tablissent entre chaque texte en vers, et la glose et l'all gorie qui suivent, r dig s en prose. Par sa forme, son contenu, et sa vis e didactique, l?Epistre rompt avec les textes po tiques brefs que Christine composait auparavant et marque le d but de sa carri re d? crivaine moralisatrice voulant instruire la noblesse fran aise. Bien que l?Epistre ne soit pas le texte le plus connu et le plus appr ci de nos jours, il s?agit d?un texte majeur dans la vie de la premi re femme de lettres de la litt rature fran aise : le nombre de manuscrits conserv s (presque une cinquantaine) atteste de l?accueil que lui ont r serv les lecteurs et lectrices du XVe si cle. Le manuscrit 606 du fonds fran ais de la Biblioth que nationale de France, produit entre 1405 et 1408, faisait partie l?origine du deuxi me recueil des oeuvres de Christine, commandit par Louis d?Orl ans, fils du roi Charles V (r. 1364-1380) et fr re du roi Charles VI (r. 1380-1422). Dans ce manuscrit, chaque ensemble texte-glose-all gorie de l?Epistre est compl t par l?ajout d?une miniature. Le manuscrit fr. 606 est le plus ancien des trois manuscrits pr sentant un cycle complet de 101 enluminures ex cut s sous sa supervision. Il montre l?approche innovatrice de Christine en ce qui concerne l?organisation textuelle et le rapport entre l?image et le texte, sa capacit mobiliser une quipe d?artistes de qualit (ici le Ma tre de l? p tre Oth a et son atelier, le Ma tre au safran, et le Ma tre d?Egerton), ainsi que son d sir de valoriser le r le de la femme dans l?histoire et la soci t . Quelques ann es plus tard, le peintre responsable de l?iconographie du manuscrit Harley 4431 de la British Library (le c l bre Manuscrit de la Reine ) reprendra en l?imitant la structure de l?ensemble des enluminures du fr. 606 et la composition de chacune d?entre elles. Summary The lyric stage is a cultural site at which constructions of gender have been developed, mitigated and, at times, hindered by musical performance. From the castrati of the seventeenth century to Mozart and Massenet's cross-dressed Cherubinos, musical works created for lyric stages have often complicated traditional and normative readings of the gender and sexual identities of their characters, allowing composers, performers, and audiences to move beyond simple biological understandings of gender and sex. The erotically charged sights and sounds of such productions called into question accepted generic conventions, thus revealing the very instability of normative identity and musical convention that European societies presumed integral to their social codes and generic constructs. The fourteen case studies in this volume explore these topics through various geographical, historical, and musical perspectives: from Italian opera seria to Parisian music-hall ballet and Greek operetta during the interwar years, these essays shed new light on the complex and complementary ways in which gender and the production of gendered identities were invariably contingent upon - but nevertheless moved beyond - the expectations of genre on the lyric stage. For more than thirty years she has touched on existential subjects with her paintings and drawings, which often refer to art-historical motifs and current political themes. She is inspired by images she finds in magazines and newspapers or by personal photos she takes of her loved ones. Through her works she tries to explore and reveal the social, political, psychological and emotional aspects of an image. This catalog offers an overview of all works that were shown in Zeno X Gallery during her Marlene Dumas Zeno X Gallery 25 years of collaboration twenty-five years of collaboration with the Antwerp gallery.
