Vi sono contenuti: Dettaglio delle Opere ideate a farsi, e loro uso successivo - Degli effetti dattendersi, e loro uso sociale - Delluso sociale degli effetti stessi, epperò della fissazione delle cautele per conservare il qui esposto uso dei rllevati effetti delle opere progettate ed esposte nel capo I - Alleg. A: Rilievi, e Rischiarimenti su lapplicazione del Progetto Diotti al Lago di Pusiano."Edizione originale", datata Milano 15. Ottobre 1797. Lingegnere Paolo Ripamonti Carpano così dichiara nellintroduzione: Mi vedo nuovamente incaricato dal Cittadino Avvocato Diotto per una più abbondante specificazione del di lui Progetto relativo al Lago di Pusiano, su cui per di lui commissione ho già avuto a stendere altro dettaglio, chesso presentò al cessato Magistrato Camerale con suo ricorso 2. Giugno 1795.. Conviene però di presentar pure in breve lessenza di questo Progetto. Esso consiste nel trarre dal Lago naturale di Pusiano il beneficio duplice, che si cava dai Laghi artifiziali; cioè lusare nei tempi di scarsezza di parte dellacqua ivi stagnante al presente, ed il ritenere nel Catino del Lago altrettanta acqua nei tempi dincomode, ed inutili piogge, o squagliamenti di nevi... Nel 1793 allavvocato Luigi Diotti, un possidente locale, venne lidea di costruire due opere fondamentali per la protezione delle zone soggette ad inondazione ed impaludamento e nel 1795 fu affidato allingegnere Paolo Rigamonti lincarico di predisporre il progetto. La prima di queste opere, consisteva nella deviazione del tratto del Lambro a monte di Erba, chiamato appunto Lambrone, per farlo sfociare direttamente nel lago di Pusiano.La seconda, meglio nota con il nome di Cavo Diotti era la creazione di un emissario artificiale e regolato del lago di Pusiano per far fronte allestrema variabilità di portata del fiume Lambro che mal si combinava con le necessità industriali della valle. Ben conservato. Vi è unito, allinizio, il seguente Proclama, Legge 21. Pratile Anno VI. Titolo I. Attributi 5, 7, 9, 12: Il Cittadino Avvocato Luigi Diotti offre un progetto, col quale dimostra potersi ottenere dal Lago di Pusiano il duplice vantaggio di estrarre, ad uso dellirrigazione, parte dellacqua ivi stagnante.. ‎First printing of Robinson's new experiments and researches into the constants of the Cup-Anemometer which he invented in 1846 by modifying Whewell's instrument by the introduction of the now-familiar windmill with hemispherical cups.""A simple type of anemometer is the cup anemometer, invented (1846) by Dr. John Thomas Romney Robinson, of Armagh Observatory. It consisted of four hemispherical cups each mounted on one end of four horizontal arms, which in turn were mounted at equal angles to each other on a vertical shaft. The air flow past the cups in any horizontal direction turned the cups in a manner that was proportional to the wind speed. Therefore, counting the turns of the cups over a set time period produced the average wind speed for a wide range of speeds. On an anemometer with four cups it is easy to see that since the cups are arranged symmetrically on the end of the arms, the wind always has the hollow of one cup presented to it and is blowing on the back of the cup on the opposite end of the cross.""‎
