Cette publication, intitulée 2 télé romans Jungle, proposait la série télévisée américaine, Sheena, Queen of the Jungle, inédite en France, et qui est une version féminine de Tarzan. Cette dernière était suivie d'un épisode de la série Captain David Grief , d'après Jack London. Les deux titres paraissaient une semaine sur deux. La série télévisée, Sheena, datant de 1955, composée de 26 épisodes, était interprétée par Irish McCalla, et est renommée ici, pour des questions de droits : Zeeyna. Contrairement au succès remporté par la séries Star Ciné, cette série ne connut qu'une existence éphémère, de 12 numéros publiés. Le numéro annoncé dans le fascicule 12, pourrait ne pas avoir été publié. Ce fascicule contient : Zeeyna, Reine de la Jungle : La Terre des Animaux Fous et Captain David Grief : La Recherche Dangereuse. Très rare édition originale, surtout dans un tel état de fraicheur.‎

‎Menus de la Villa Roc-Tavel au Cannet.‎

‎[Le Cannet], [1901 - 1927]. Important ensemble de 330 aquarelles, empreintes et dessins originaux d'Auguste Tavel, ayant pour motifs des compositions végétales. La plupart devaient servir pour des menus. Ainsi 74 feuillets sont non seulement décorés, mais ils sont datés, le menu y est inscrit à l'aquarelle, et les noms des invités figurent souvent au verso, avec le plan de table. L'artiste a utilisé des papiers de différentes teintes et textures. Presque chaque feuillet porte le tampon de Tavel. L'ensemble n'est pas relié, mais conservé sous une reliure portant la mention "Roc-Tavel - Menus" au dos et sur le premier plat. ‎

‎Né en 1859 à La Bretonnière, dans le canton de Vaud, Auguste Amédé Frédéric Tavel fit ses études à Lausanne au collège Gaillard, un apprentissage de commerce à Brême et à Londres, puis il se rend à Paris afin d'y étudier la peinture. Vers 1899 il s'installe au Cannet. Artiste-peintre, ami de Pierre Bonnard, Eugène Baraize et Louis Pastour, il se fera construire une villa par Henri Stoecklin, avec un grand atelier de plain-pied (villa documentée dans la publication de P. A. Planat: L'architecture du littoral: Côte d'Azur; Paris, Librairie de la construction moderne, 1911). Baraize et Pastour y réalisèrent des peintures sur les plafonds et les murs. Roc-tavel est aujourd'hui encore une belle demeure, mise en avant par l'office du tourisme du Cannet parmi les découvertes à y faire. Parmi les noms que l'on peut relever au sein des invités d'Auguste Tavel, on peut trouver : Veillon, Virchaux, Dr. Bories, G. Richard, Ahmerber, Schwerber, Stettler (avocat notaire à Berne), Louis et Mme Pastour, Eugène Baraize, Joseph Gasiglia, Fernand et Odette Mussard, Humbert, Gaston et Thérese de Mestral de Combremont, Jules Chatelanat.Important set of 330 watercolors, prints and original drawings by Auguste Tavel, with motifs of plant compositions. Most were meant for menus. Thus 74 pages are not only decorated, but they are dated, the menu is written in watercolor, and the names of the guests are often on the back, with the table plan. The artist used the papers of different colors and textures. Almost every leaflet carries Tavel's stamp. ‎Giorgio de Chirico (1888?? 1978) was one of the most innovative and controversial artists of the twentieth century. His early success in Paris and subsequent lionization by the Surrealists were followed by decades of negative criticism. While his enigmatic Metaphysical paintings, with their dreamlike imagery of deserted city squares filled with mysterious shadows, stopped clocks, and sleeping statues, had a powerful impact on modern art, de Chirico himself abandoned modernism in the 1920s for a return to the painting techniques of the old masters. A key to understanding de Chirico?? s oeuvre is an early series of paintings he made in 1912?? 13 of the mythical Greek princess Ariadne. De Chirico increasing engagement with Paris?? s avant-garde art scene can be traced in the series, as well as the coalescence of his own painting style. In later years, the artist would return to the Ariadne theme again and again in his vast series of Piazza d?? Italia paintings, which in their repetition and minute variations border on the obsessive. For all this claims to the contrary, de Chirico remained profoundly modern, his serial approach to painting foreshadowing the work of such artists as Andy Warhol. In eight essays the authors explore the importance of the Ariadne series in the context of the Paris art world before World War I and in later developments in de Chirico?? s career.
