The Utrecht Psalter, made about 820 - 835 at the Benedictine monastary of Hautvillers, near Epernay, is the masterpiece of the Carolingain Renaissance. Its artists created the most comprehensive surviving cycle of illustrations to the Book of Psalms, a book of the Old Testament that was of central importanbce in both monastic observance and lay devotion in the Middle Ages.

Edition originale tirée à 155 exemplaire, celui-ci est un des 37 exemplaires sur Japon signé par l'auteur. L'auteur était pasteur presbytérien, président du Hamilton College.
