The oeuvre of Peter Paul Rubens includes an estimated 2,500-odd compositions and numbers around 10,000 works of art. The Corpus Rubenianum Ludwig Burchard was set up to provide a complete catalogue of this oeuvre. At present, twenty-seven of the proposed twenty-nine volumes have been completed. The first volume appeared in 1968, and the last one will be published in 2023.
