Schühlein in der Einleitung dieses Werkes, gedruckte Reproduktion eines autographierten Textes: “Wir wissen, dass die Nestorianer bereits frühzeitig eine eifrige Missionstätigkeit entfaltet haben. Dass sie selbst bis ins Innere von China vorgedrungen sind und unter der Dynastie der Tang nicht nur einer volkommenen Freiheit, sondern auch wohlwollenden Entgegenkommens sich erfreuten, dafür bildet ein Hauptdokument die Inschrift auf dem Gedenkstein von Si-ngan-fu, zugleich dem ältesten Denkmal des Christentums in China (635)”. Die Gedenkstein wurde, "in ganz unsinniger Weise", mal erklärt als Jesuitische Fälschung. ‎
