Affiche roulée avec petites plissures aux coins et aux bords, mais en superbe état général. L'affiche publicitaire représente, le chanteur, compositeur et guitariste des Beatles, et annonçe la Marche pour la Paix, à Paris le 20 juin 1982, de la Gare Montparnasse à la place de la Bastille. Plusieurs centaines de milliers de personnes ont assisté à cette marche qui réunissait une foule pacifiste dénonçant les conflits au Liban et en Palestine, ainsi que la course aux armements relancée par le gouvernement Reagan et les risques de guerre nucléaire. Cette marche est née de " L’Appel des Cent ", un collectif de personnalités politiques et intellectuelles dont Albert Jacquard, Claude Pieplu, Georges Séguy, Hervé Bazin, Bernard Lacombe, le Professeur Schwarzemberg, Jacques Denis, etc, qui, dans le contexte de la guerre froide, appelait à des négociations Est/Ouest et à la fin de la course aux armements. "This ingenious officer and mechanic was engaged by the Russian Ambassador, at a salary of 300 pounds a year, to superintend in paticular a communication then making between the Volga and the Don. In an introduction to his work Perry gives an account of the many disappointments he experienced during fourteen years of residence in Russia, which he was finally forced to quit without receiving his expected renumeration. ‎First appearance of these importent papers, the investigations recorded here gave an essentuial contribution to the development of the first atomic bomb and to the advancement of nuclear physics. In collaboration with his wife Irene, he discovered artificially induced radioactivity early in 1934 for which they were awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for 1935. The Joliot-Curies provided chemical evidence for transmutation ( the change of one element to another) with the change of aluminum into a previously unknown isotope (variety) of silicon. This led to the development of a new discipline - the production and study of radioisotopes (radioactive forms of elements), and their later investigations together with their collaborators unrolled the fission process as in the offered papers. ‎
