‎Henri Storck, geboren in Brussel op 5 september 1907 en overleden in Ukkel (Brussel) op 17 september 1999, was een Belgische regisseur van vooral documentaires. Hij maakte meer dan zestig films en is onder andere beroemd om kortfilms als Mis re au Borinage. Zijn naam blijft onafscheidelijk verbonden met de Belgische documentaire school, enigszins zoals John Grierson in Groot-Brittanni . Henri Storck realiseerde aanvankelijk avant-gardistische documentaire essays over zijn geboortestad, experimenteerde vervolgens met found footage en maakte een paar militante films. Tijdens de Duitse bezetting bleef hij filmen. Na de bevrijding kreeg hij in Belgi een welhaast offici le status als vader van de Belgische documentaire. Hij inspireerde tal van Belgische cineasten; de gebroeders Dardenne eerden hem daarvoor toen ze in 1999 op het festival van Cannes de Gouden Palm in ontvangst namen voor hun film Rosetta. Henri Storck is ook een van de pioniers van de kunstfilm. In 1944 verfilmde hij al enkele schilderijen van Paul Delvaux, wiens dromerige universum hij op intense wijze wist te evoceren. Als Oostendenaar heeft hij de 'Oostendse schilders' Ensor, Spilliaert en Permeke goed gekend en vaak gefotografeerd en gefilmd. Dit boek wordt uitgegeven in partnership met het Henri Storck Fonds, Mu.ZEE (Oostende) en het Mus e de la Photographie (Charleroi) in het kader van het Ensorjaar. ‎Deuxième édition de cette monumentale monographie consacrée aux monuments à la gloire de Louis XV. Elle est illustrée de 52 (sur 57) planches gravées sur cuivre en noir de Patte, Cuelin et Contant, certaines dépliantes, ainsi que de 4 vignettes au titre et dans le texte. La première a été dessinée par Boucher et Le Mire puis gravée par Cochin, la seconde par Marvye, les troisième et quatrième par Patte. L'ouvrage débute par un tableau des progrès des arts et des sciences dans lequel Patte a regroupé les diverses avancées dans des domaines tels l'architecture navale, la peinture ou les mathématiques. Dans son introduction, l'auteur analyse les honneurs et monuments des grands hommes chez les Anciens et les Modernes avant de faire le catalogue de ceux dédiés à Louis XV. ‎Édition originale de la première suite (seule parue) de ce recueil de planches d'architecture italienne et française. Elle comporte une préface (lue et approuvée par Camus, secrétaire de l'Académie royale d'architecture, en date du 14 novembre 1755), des Remarques et Observations sur les planches et 18 planches, certaines signées sur la planche "Patte sc.", "Patte del" ou encore "Patte del et sc.", dont 4 sont doubles. Le texte est également gravé, il se déploie dans un encadrement et se termine par un fleuron pour la préface et débute sur un grand bandeau pour les Remarques. Ce traité se propose d'étudier la notion de proportion en architecture en en montrant les exemples les plus réussis et comparant les différents projets avec la construction finale ou le rapport entre plusieurs parties d'un même bâtiment. ‎Recensie Biblion: Catalogus bij de tentoonstelling ?Overdaad baat? van grafisch kunstenaar Erik Andriesse (1957-1993) in het Fries Museum te Leeuwarden in 2007. Deze jong gestorven graficus won in 1988 de Prix de Rome en verkeerde in de kringen van Marlene Dumas. Hij experimenteerde met de grenzen van de grafische techniek. Naast etsen maakte hij drukwerk op steen, hout en linoleum en werkte hij met Thaise zijde en Chinees papier. Zijn werk was niet alleen gericht op reproductie, hij maakte ook monoprints. De onderwerpen zijn (verwelkte) bloemen, schedels, geraamtes en andere vanitasthema?s. Het werk oogt bizar en irrationeel en kenmerkt zich door gothic motieven en het besef van tijd. De grafiek wisselt van heel kleurrijk tot inktzwart. In deze uitgave zijn 72 werken van de expositie groot afgebeeld. Daarnaast bevat het een overzichtscatalogus met 65 werken en twee korte teksten.
