S rie des 7 num. publi s between 1950-1953 qui rendirent c l bre la revue, qui paru ensuite de mani re plus sporadique. // Spazio, Rassegna delle Arti e dell'Architettura una rivista d'arte edita dal 1950 al 1953 a Roma con l'intento di proporre collegamenti fra le diverse forme d'arte (dall'architettura alla scultura, dalla pittura al cinema e al teatro). Fu fondata dall'architetto romano Luigi Walter Moretti, che non a caso apriva il primo numero con l'articolo Eclettismo e unit di linguaggio. Attraverso di essa pubblic i suoi saggi pi importanti: oltre al gi citato Eclettismo e unit di linguaggio del 1950, Genesi di forme della figura umana (1950), Forme astratte nella scultura barocca (1950), Colore di Venezia (1950), Trasfigurazioni di strutture murarie (1951), Discontinuit dello Spazio in Caravaggio (1951), Valori della modanatura, (1951), Strutture e sequenze di spazi (1953). La rivista, stampata a Milano prima dalla tipografia E. Barigazzi e quindi dalla tipografia Lucini, aveva la sede amministrativa a Roma e uffici a Milano e Parigi. Luigi Moretti ne fu direttore e principale redattore, direttore responsabile era Felicia Abruzzese, collaboratrice dello studio Moretti. La rivista ebbe una certa continuit dal 1950 al 1953, periodo in cui uscirono i sette numeri che resero celebre la testata tra gli addetti ai lavori. Nei decenni successivi Moretti fece uscire la rivista in maniera sporadica, in un numero del 1957 pubblic il suo saggio Forma come struttura; nel gennaio febbraio 1959 usc un numero contenente articoli di Fernand L ger, Alberto Gatti, Giampiero Giani e un'Antologia di Spazio dedicata allo scultore Pietro De Laurentiis, articolo che venne poi estratto e pubblicato - sempre a cura delle edizioni Spazio - come catalogo di una mostra tenutasi quello stesso anno; nell'aprile del 1963 pubblic il saggio Strutture di insiemi e, nel 1964, il saggio Significato attuale della dizione architettura. del luglio del 1968 un numero in cui compare il saggio Capogrossi dedicato al celebre pittore romano.‎

‎Gedurende de middeleeuwen en ook later, tot aan het einde van de 18de eeuw was Heist-op-den-Berg, samen met Gestel, Booischot, Hallaar en het gehucht Bernum dat vandaag bij Itegem hoort een exclave van de Heerlijkheid Mechelen. Deze heerlijkheid maakte op zijn beurt deel uit van de Habsburgse Nederlanden. Door zijn aparte territoriale situatie verkreeg Heist-op-den-Berg een verregaande vorm van autonomie en mocht zij haar eigen schepenbank vormen. Slechts bij betwisting werd de zaak verhuisd naar de schepenbank van Mechelen. De schepenbank vergaderde lange tijd in het Voogdijhuis boven op de berg. Het gebouw werd aan het begin van de 20ste eeuw gesloopt om plaats te maken voor het klooster van de Zusters Annunciaten. Enkel de Voogdijstraat is hier nog een herinnering aan.‎

‎Willy De Sauter (1938, Brugge) volgde een opleiding als graficus, wat een belangrijke stempel op zijn plastisch werk heeft gedrukt. Hij is steeds op zoek naar de essentie, wat in zijn vroegste werk evolueerde naar een spaarzaam gebruik van de lijn. Toen die lijn het ganse blad in beslag nam, werd de stap gezet naar andere materialen, met nieuwe visuele mogelijkheden. Er dook kleur op in het werk, dat ook meer ruimtelijk werd opgevat. Waar de vroegere werken louter zelfreferentieel waren, worden nu bovendien referenties aan architecturale vormen opgenomen. Ondanks deze evolutie blijft De Sauter wat hij zelf noemt, een minimalist. ‎

‎At a first viewing of Dirk Vander Eecken's recent work, I was peripherally reminded of the edition "Erster Blick" (2000) of the German artist Gerhard Richter. This simple appropriation of a page from the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung shows a photo with a text fragment of the first image of the inside of an atom, made by scientists at the University of Augsburg. It is an edition in which Gerhard Richter expresses his fascination for what underlies the material world, or what it is made up of. Concrete reality is tipped over through a microscopic examination that creates a mysterious image which evades all human control. Gerhard Richter also painted, after an illness, snow landscapes that conjure up a similar fascination with a landscape that exists but is temporarily covered with a layer of white snow. In a similar way, the oeuvre of Dirk Vander Eecken is an attempt at creating a continuum, an attempted contemplation of "realities" that directly opposes the routinous perception of the overpressurised rustling reality that surrounds us. / Bij een eerste blik op het recente werk van Dirk Vander Eecken moest ik zijdelings denken aan de editie Erster Blick (2000) van de Duitse kunstenaar Gerhard Richter. Deze eenvoudige toe-eigening van een deeltje van een pagina uit de Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung toont een foto met tekstfragment van de eerste afbeelding van de binnenkant van een atoom gemaakt door wetenschappers aan de Universiteit van Augsburg. Het is een editie waarin Gerhard Richter zijn fascinatie toont voor de achter- en binnenkant van de materi le wereld. Het concrete kantelt via electromicroscopische waarneming in een mysterieus beeld waarop de mens alle greep verliest. Gerhard Richter schilderde na een ziekte ook sneeuwlandschappen waar eenzelfde fascinatie wordt opgeroepen voor een landschap dat er is maar tijdelijk bedekt is met een laag witte sneeuw. Op een gelijkaardige manier is het oeuvre van Dirk Vander Eecken een poging tot continu m, een trachten kijken naar 'werkelijkheden' dat haaks staat op de routineuze perceptie van de ons omringende, overdruk ruisende werkelijkheid.‎
