‎About 50 years ago, the 'stone age' of lithography and lithographic printing came to an end all over the world. Stone printing was invented in 1798 by German Aloys Senefelder and was an important complement to letterpress printing at the time. Images, first in black and white and later in colour, were much easier to reproduce lithographically than via woodcuts or copper engravings. The 'iconoclasm' that followed was unparalleled in scope and had a huge range of applications - from advertising and religion to journalism and art. The Dutch Lithography Museum in Valkenswaard displays not only all types of lithographic printing, but also the technique that made them possible. Since 2001, the museum has been caring for the preservation of this graphic heritage. It is a mus e vivante, a living museum, with many attractions. Lithographers and lithographers give demonstrations and it is even possible to go to work yourself in the museum workshop. This book was published on the occasion of the museum's tenth anniversary. ‎

‎Ongeveer vijftig jaar geleden kwam er overal ter wereld een einde aan het 'stenen tijdperk' van de lithografie en de steendruk. De steendruk werd in 1798 uitgevonden door de Duitser Aloys Senefelder en vormde toen een belangrijke aanvulling op de boekdrukkunst. Afbeeldingen, eerst in zwart-wit en later in kleur, waren lithografisch veel gemakkelijker te reproduceren dan via houtsnedes of kopergravures. De 'beeldenstorm' die hierop volgde was onge venaard van omvang en kende een enorm toepassingsgebied - van reclame en religie tot journalistiek en kunst. Het Nederlands Steendrukmuseum in Valkenswaard toont niet alleen alle soorten lithografisch drukwerk, maar ook de techniek die deze mogelijk maakte. Sinds 2001 draagt het museum zorg voor het behoud van dit grafisch erfgoed. Het is een mus e vivante, een levend museum, met vele attracties. Lithografen en steendrukkers geven demonstraties en het is zelfs mogelijk om zelf aan de slag te gaan in het museumatelier. ‎Summary Abbo von Fleury war einer der gro en Gelehrten des 10. Jahrhunderts. Seine Sammlung zu Computus, Astronomie und Kosmologie hat in Ausz gen und Neuzusammenstellungen gro e Verbreitung gefunden. Eine Handschrift, n mlich Berlin Phill. 1833, enth lt die Sammlung jedoch besonders sorgf ltig geschrieben und konsistent aufgebaut. Sie wurde um das Jahr 1000 oder wenig sp ter, eventuell gro teils noch zu Abbos Lebzeiten oder bald nach seinem Tod (1004) angefertigt. Sie gilt als die beste Zusammenstellung des Materials. Abbos Sammlung lag bisher lediglich in einer kaum brauchbaren Edition in Mignes Patrologia Latina vor, die auf einer Edition des 16. Jahrhunderts basiert. Daneben existieren modernere Teileditionen kleinerer Abschnitte. Dass sich bisher niemand an eine Neuedition des Ganzen gewagt hat, liegt wohl an den teilweise recht komplexen Grafiken. Die vorliegende Edition geht hier neue Wege. Alle Tabellen werden mit dem Computer berechnet und mit der Handschrift verglichen. Die grafischen Darstellungen werden mit Hilfe von eigens geschriebenen Programmen als digitale Bilder generiert, die die Darstellungen in der Handschrift in Farbe, genau und ma stabsgerecht nachbilden. Le but de l'auteur, en chantant les louanges de Barq?q, tait surtout de l gitimer sa prise de pouvoir en le repla ant dans une longue lign e de sultans mamelouks, tout en profitant de cette occasion pour se rapprocher du sultan et lui faire valoir ses propres comp tences de juriste. L'ouvrage est compos d'une pr face et de trois chapitres. Le premier est un bref r sum des r gnes des sultans mamelouks bahrites, de l'av nement de la dynastie en 648/1250 la prise de pouvoir par Barq?q en 784/1382 ; le deuxi me comprend une suite de trente-deux questions et r ponses juridiques sur des sujets vari s qui concernent aussi bien des piliers de l'islam (pri re, aum ne l gale, je ne, p lerinage) que les questions de t moignage en justice, achats de biens, h ritage, femmes, esclaves, divorce ou chasse, le but tant d'aider le sultan tester les connaissances des juristes qui l'entourent ; le troisi me chapitre fait l' loge des vertus de Barq?q.
