‎An 1865 printing re-described and newly identified as the Publisher's "File Copy". With a revised and expanded Census of the suppressed 1865 "Alice" compiled by Selwyn H Goodacre, to which is added a short-title index identifying and locating the original preliminary drawings by John Tenniel for Alice and Looking-Glass. Catalogued by Justin G. Schiller. Privately printed for the Jabberwock. Kingston, New York. 1990. Grand in-8 de 112 pp. (dont une planche repliée), 1 f. d’errata : plats pelliculés imitant la reliure de Rivière faite en 1899 pour l’ouvrage.‎

‎Précieuse étude sur l’histoire éditoriale d’Alice rédigée par le plus grand libraire de livres pour les enfants Justin G. Schiller, toujours généreux dans le partage de ses découvertes et de ses études. (A qui j’emprunte la majeure partie de la notice). Il travaille ici avec le médecin et éminent bibliographe de Dogson, Selwyn Goodacre. Les Aventures d’Alice au pays de merveilles de Charles Dodgson (Lewis Caroll 1832-1898) furent publiées pour la première fois par Macmillan à Londres en 1865. Edition interdite et devenue ainsi la plus recherchée, seulement vingt-deux exemplaires survécurent (plus un volé). En effet, ce qui est normalement cité et vendu en tant que première édition (Londres 1866) n’est que la première édition “autorisée” publiée quatre mois plus tard par un autre éditeur. Chacune des vingt-trois copies de 1865 comporte ici sa notice historique depuis la publication et leur localisation. Puis suit un élégant catalogue des dessins originaux de John Tenniel (1820-1914), dont certains sont reproduits pour le première fois. Ouvrage illustré de près de cent reproductions. À l'état neuf‎
