Publié séparement comme 3ème tome de la traduction de ses ‘Sketches ... of Switzerland’ (1779) sous le titre: ‘Voyage en Suisse’ dans la traduction de Ramond. (cf. Perret 1159). Les pages 365 et suivantes contiennent un ‘postscriptum’ avec un ‘Vocabulaire du Romanche de la haute Engadine et une liste des premiers Livres et des Bibles imprimés en langue Romane, suivie par la dernière ‘Lettre LXVII’ de M. Pennant à l’Auteur sur les Baillages Italiens de la Suisse. Contient: Voyage du sommet du Mont-Saint-Gothard à Milan - Vallée levantine - Bellinzone - Locarno Ville & Lac de Lugano - Lago Maggiore - Iles Borromées. L’ouvrage a tout vraisemblablement été publié ‘séparément’ parce que ni le faux-titre ni le titre ne mentionnent d’autres tomes du ‘Voyage en Suisse’ et l’ouvrage commence après la page de titre avec la ‘Lettre XLIV’. The author spent much interest in the ‘golden age’ of alpinism (1855-1865), which started on the 17th of September 1854, by the first ascent of the Wetterhorn from the Grindelwald and is ‘a red-letter day’ in the history of modern mountaineering.
