Scarce gathering of decisions of the municipal parliament and government of Yogyakarta. Very interesting for the six road tax (vehicle duty) disc labels (vignettes), which are in fine condition. Cover a bit worn, else very good.

Collection Iris. 28,5 x 18,5 cm (R), très grand in-8, 242 pp. + 1 f. n. ch., avec 9 illustrations tirées en vert à pleine page dont une en frontispice, reliure moderne en demi-requin noir à encadrements, plats couverts d'un papier coréen de fabrication traditionnelle en fibres végétales compressées, gardes couvertes d'un autre papier coréen, différent mais de fabrication similaire, dos lisse avec titre à la chinoise de couleur ambre, couvertures illustrées conservées, étui rond avec liserés de cuir de requin (reliure signée Martine Locicero).
Romancier, Maurice Maindron fut également entomologiste. C'est à ce titre qu'il se rendit en Indonésie en 1884-1885. Le récit à l'usage de la jeunesse qu'il nous livre ici diffère notablement des romans exotiques qui fleurissaient à l'époque en ce sens que Maindron, étant allé sur place, doté par ailleurs d'une solide culture scientifique, sans parler de la naturelle alacrité de sa plume, savait parfaitement de quoi il parlait, décrivant des terres qu'il avait lui-même parcouru une dizaine d'années plus tôt. Notre édition, qui comporte, après la page 210, "Les propos du professeur Martin Thausing", et qui est conforme à celle décrite dans la "Bibliographie de Belgique" de 1897 (n° 1457) semble être l'édition originale. Nous n'en avons localisé qu'un seul exemplaire dans le KVK. L'exemplaire est présenté dans une reliure particulièrement originale dont les matériaux exotiques sont en parfaite harmonie avec le texte. Petite restauration à la couverture, sinon un très bel exemplaire.

Unofficial magazine of the Masyumi party, directed by former Indonesian prime-minister Mohammad Natsir. Contains a lot of political caricatures. Repeated stamps "Hak Milik 'Peladjar', Keluarga 'H. Zaenuddin'". Numerous irrelevant clippings pasted down in the 4 first issues, lack pp. 3-4 to num. 46, else very good.

Annual report for this important private sugar factory of central Java founded in 1891. The title page and the diagrams only are printed, the rest being Roneo. The photographs called for have never been pasted down, page 71 has been pulled out, bumps to corner, a few worm holes in the upper corner of the first leaves, not affecting the text.
