" Amsterdam, De Hooge Brug ( editor ), Arch. H.TH. Wijdeveld ( typography ), 1919, original double issue 7/8 (july-august). Format square 32,5 x 32,5 cm, 60 pp, printed as a japanese book bloc, stitched together with raffia. Original issue, as published. Loosely inserted and folded is an original woodcut (Diploma exhibition Book trade Amsterdam 1892, size 72 x 43,5 cm) The issue contains approx. 60 large woodcuts printed from the original blocks, some especially made for this publication. They offer a wide overview of the woodcut art in the Netherlands with work by K. de Bazel, N. Eekman, W. Nieuwenkamp, Jan Mankes.... and also woodcuts of some Flemish artists such as J. Cantré, Gustave de Smet. The cover is a lithograph of R.N. Roland Holst. The interior of the issue is perfect. The cover however, printed on heavy paper, shows serious damage to the outer margins ( over a width of 1-1,5 cm). The margin is frayed and with loss of paper. This damage is the result of the wrapper which overlaps the body of the issue with ca. 1 cm. This resulted, after 100 years , in creases and some loss of material. Nothwithstanding this defect this is a complete copy, with the C.A. Cachet's folding plate and the interior in very fine condition.Text in Dutch. (Bibliography: M.F.
