First free endpaper with previous owner’s name and with an original handwritten letter from Verrall dated 14 May 1900 writing the following: ‘’.... but I am now publishing a work on British Syrphidae [not this book, the Syrphidae book was published in 1901] which will run to about 800 pages and I have corrected proofs up to page 416’’. Good copy of this rare book with the extra touch of the original Verrall letter added.
