Het eerste boekdeel stelt het parcours van Stanislas Jasinski (1901-1978) voor, dat zich uitstrekt van de jaren 1920 tot 1970. Hij is de auteur van heel veel projecten, vooral in Brussel en omgeving. Zijn werk is een herinterpretatie van Brussel aan de hand van het thema van het appartementsgebouw als typologie voor de evolutie van de stad. Het grootste deel van zijn productie is goed bewaard gebleven en goed zichtbaar in de publieke ruimte.
