Napoli, 1777-1786. 4to. 13 contemporary full vellum (italian), title- and tomelabels gilt and in 2 colours. 3 volumes with parts of the vellum missing from front and back covers. Some overall yellowing to pages, a few quires browned, but no major flaws. All volumes with engraved titlepages.
From 1770 Girolamo Tiraboschi (1731-1794) was the head of Biblioteca Estense in Modena. During the following 11 years he worked on his ""Storia della letteratura italiana"". A work with great influence and today considered a major work in 18th. century philology. This being a complete set including the register to the whole work.
