‎ 1646 Lugduni Natavorum, Ex Officina Joannis Maire, 1646; in-32 de (7) ff. - 704pp. Reliure en plein velin à rabats de l'époque, titre calligraphié à l'encre noire au dos, tranches mouchetées de rouge. Ex-librs cachet de cire à l'intérieur du 1er plat , initiales "M.E." entrecroisées. Quelques traces de mouillure pale. Manque un feuillet (faux-titre). ‎


‎ Antoine Thys (Thysius en latin) était un historien et philologue hollandais, né à Harderwick vers 1603 et mort à Leyde en 1665. Diplomé en droit, il obtint une chaire de poésie et enseigna l'éloquence et le droit. Elève de Heinsius et lui succéda comme bibliothécaire à l'université. (Reu-Bur) ‎

Lactantius was called sometimes the Christian Cicero because of the beauty of his style. His main work; ''Divinarum Institutionum Libri VII'' (The divine institutions) is considered to be the first attempt at a systematic exposition of Christian theology in Latin. The author was also at one time tutor to Crispus, emperor Constantine's son. Antonius Thysius (1603 - 1665) was professor at Leiden university."‎
