(p. 23-24 vertical tear) + 5 leaves + 8 (of 9) explan. leaves (explan. leaf to plate 2 is missing) + 9 engraved plates (par "S.M.", plate 2 somewhat stained, plate 5 with a few tiny pen drawings, extreme border of pl. 7 torn off), some engraved head and tail vignettes light staining mainly in the lower margin, slight worming in the outer upper corner, 19th century half calf binding, some gold tooled decoration on spine, rubbed and scratched mainly to covers and edges.
Very rare. Petrus Paulus Tanaron was an Italian army physician and surgeon, Toscane. On the titlepage the auther is named ‘Dottore di Medicina, Professore di Chirurgia, Socio dell'Accademia Etrusca di Cortona & ‘Chirurgo del Reggiamento Reale Toscano’. Edizione Remondini del 1774 di questo trattato di ostetricia del chrirugo italiano Pietro Paolo Tanaron. Tanaron fu chirurgo del Reggimento Reale della Toscana, professore di chirurgia a Firenze e membro dell'Accademia etrusca di Cortona. L'opera era composta da tre tomi siamo in possesso dei primi due. Manca il terzo tomo sulle malattie dei bambini. All'interno: parti contro natura, Mostri, Cesareo, cure al bambino dopo la nascita, Requisiti della balia, Malattie e disturbi post partum. Alcune esperienze dell'autore stesso (osservazione sopra una cesarea fatta più di un quarto d'ora dopo spirata la donna con felice successo per la prole). Il testo è impreziosito da 32 tavole fuori testo più volte ripiegate tra le quali il ritratto dell'autore in antiporta, strumenti e scene mediche. In buone condizioni. Copertina in mezza pelle coeva con titolo e decorazioni in oro al dorso in buone condizioni generali con lievi usure ai margini e dorso. Legatura in buone condizioni. All'interno le pagine si presentano in buone condizioni con fioriture. Restauro orizzontale alla tavola n. II, XVII. Il tassello al tomo secondo indica erroneamente "3". In 8. cm 19x12,5. Pp. The work was made up of three tomes we onyl have the first two tomes. The third tome about deseases of children lacks. Some observations of the author. The text is enriched by 32 out of text plates with the portrait of the author, instruments and scenes of medicine. In good conditions. Half leather coeval cover with gilted title in the spine in good conditions lightly worn in the extremities. Binding in good conditions.
