‎Cretaceous actaeonellid gastropods from the western hemisphere.‎

‎1985 iv, 104 p., 45 text figures (mainly distribution maps and graphs), 23 plates, 4to, paperbound.A major revision of this group with several new species, also with a long list of taxa excluded from the family. The Actaeonellidae once were a dominant fauna element in shallow, temperate and tropical seas. Together with the dinosaurs, ammonites and many other groups they became suddenly extinct at the end of the Cretaceous period. This is Geological Survey Professional Paper 1304, signed by the second author, dedicating this copy to his colleague, Prof. Zapfe. The latter's small private library stamp and the name of the authors written on the front wrapper, otherwise a very good clean copy.‎
