Complete for the Microlepidoptera and with some additions to the Macrolepidoptera which had been treated by Snellen 15 years earlier. This work is not a comprehensive review of cardiac history, though very useful. It seeks to understand today's cardiology from its historic development during the long interval between Harvey and the middle of the 20th century.
