‎À Genève, de l'imprimerie de la Bibliothèque britannique, an IX (1801), in-8, VIII-248 pp, broché, couverture d'attente de l'époque, Première édition en librairie de la traduction de A Description of the Jail Distemper as it Appeared amongst the Spanish Prisoners, du médecin écossais James Carmichael Smyth (1741-1821). La version française avait paru à l'origine dans le périodique conservateur de Marc-Auguste et Charles Pictet, la Bibliothèque britannique, voué à diffuser les nouveautés scientifiques et littéraires en provenance d'Angleterre et à donner un éclairage différent de la pensée diffusée en France par la Révolution française. Les observations de Carmichael Smyth sont suivies d'un extrait des Observations du Dr James Currie sur les bons effets des aspersions d'eau froide dans les fièvres, et d'Observations additionnelles sur les fumigations de gaz nitrique en réponse aux objections faites contre elles, par Guyton-Moreau.
