Mémoire appuyant la demande de séparation de corps de Zoé-Victoire Talon (1785-1852) de son mari Achille de Baschi du Cayla (1775-1851).Les différends juridiques avaient commencé très tôt entre la future "bonne amie" de Louis XVIII et son conjoint, épousé par convenance le 3 août 1802 (les deux familles sont ardemment royalistes). Les jeunes époux avaient vite pris des libertés vis-à-vis de la vie commune, et, très rapidement, le mariage commença à battre de l'aile. Zoé entama alors des actions judiciaires contre son mari, qui dureront plus de vingt ans, et se terminèrent par une séparation de corps.Notre pièce jette en tout cas une lumière crue sur les relations d'un couple malheureux qui se déchire ; sous la Restauration comme de nos jours, comme de tout temps, c'est la voie royale des injures. Achille du Cayla semble avoir été doué dans cette partie : "Tout ce qu'il y a, disait un des témoins, de plus gros mots, tout ce qu'il y a de plus bas, de plus vil, de plus grossier, de plus déshonorant dans la langue française, salope, catin, g...
