Soemmering (1755-1830) war der erfolgreichste Anatom und Physiologe Deutschlands seiner Zeit, aber auch Erfinder eines Telegraphen. Er war u.a. befreundet mit Friedrich Hölderlin. - Einband an den Ecken leicht bestossen. Titelblatt fleckig, sonst nur stellenweise leicht fleckig oder gebräunt. Vorsatz mit kleinem Besitzerstempel des Berner Chirurgen Fritz de Quervain.
