First edition of this extremely scarce edition of the beautiful poem by Robert Roxby, "The Lay of the Reedwater Minstrel", an ode to the beautiful landscapes of Resendale. From the text it is clear that the poet was fascinated by the places of the area, and knew them and the locals really well. A long poem in three parts, with many historical references and a strong romantic undercurrent. Illustrated with an engraving attributed to Thomas Bewick to the title page. Second edition in 1832.
