Die Abenteuer Des Fliegers Von Tsingtau. Meine Erlebnisse in drei Erdteilen
1916 Berlin: Ullstein Kriegsbücher, 1916. Octavo, printed wrappers, 248 pp., with an additional 6 pp. of publisher's advertisements, three double-sided plates and one one-sided plate. Wrappers slightly worn, otherwise a very good copy.
In August 1914,Plüschow was stationed at the German East Asian Naval Station in Tsingtao (now Qingdao), China, then a German colony. While in Tsingtao, he flew as a naval reconnaissance pilot in a Rumpler Taube. On August 15th, 1914, Japan gave an ultimatum to Germany demanding their evacuation of Kiautschou Bay but the German refused leading to an attack from both Japanese and British forces onto the German colony. Plüschow, fighting from the air, downed a Japanese plane with his pistol earning him the title of 'hero of Tsingtao'. However, when the colony was lost, Plüschow was ordered to fly off and escape, carrying final dispatches and documents from the governor. Remise de 20% pour toutes commandes supérieures à 200 €

Poétique portrait du modèle qui apparaît dans le célèbre cliché dit du "Martyr chrétien", dans lequel certains veulent reconnaître Nino Cesarini (voir ci-dessous, n° 57, un autre portrait du même garçon, devenu adulte).Belle épreuve aux subtiles tonalités, montée sur carton grenat avec encadrement doré.
