Avec un frontispice en noir et blanc (autoportrait). Les illustrations de Vinci de la forme humaine étaient souvent basées sur son étude de cadavres disséqués. Ce livre contient de nombreuses reproductions en noir et blanc des illustrations de l'artiste. Un aperçu fascinant des efforts déployés pour étudier l'anatomie du corps. Nom de l'ancien propriétaire à la page de garde. Ex libris sur le pastedown avant. Signature du propriétaire. Le propriétaire était Willem Henrik Emile (Emile) baron van der Borch van Verwolde (1910-1943). C'était un résistant néerlandais et un éditeur bibliophile. Il avait travaillé avec A.A.M. Stols et Buckland Wright pour publier des ouvrages de qualité. Pendant la guerre, il était membre des services de renseignements néerlandais. Da Vinci's illustrations of the human form were often based on his study of dissected cadavers. This book contains many b/w reproductions of the artist's illustrations. A fascinating insight in to the struggles to study the anatomy of the body. Neat previous owner's name to ffep. Ex libris to front pastedown. Also owner's signature. The owner was Willem Henrik Emile (Emile) baron van der Borch van Verwolde (19101943). He was a Dutch resistance fighter and a bibliophile publisher. He had worked with A.A.M. Stols and Buckland Wright to publish quality items. During the war he was a member of Dutch Intelligence. He was arrested by the Germans in 1943, and executed shortly after.
