Bound in contemporary full vellum, inner joints cracked, some slight foxing and soiling but still a good copy. Rare curious work on the funeral rites, written by a Roman roman catholic canon. It deals with the lay out and the cloths of the body, embalming, bell ringing, use of incense, chant and music, hearse , period of mourning and the function of the caretaker... The author refers extensively to the customs in classical Rome and in the early days of the Church. Text in Italian..
