Complete set bound in the original publisher's cased bindings (Original Pappbände ). Very fine copies without any ex-library markings (nor provenance markings). The spines of the original illustrated cased bindings a bit yellowed, 1 spine which was broken repaired with invisable tape, spotless interiors !. A handsome copy of this monument of German 19th c. erudition in the field of Sanskrit philology. In the preface the author explains that the first important acquisition ( 205 items, collection of John Murray)) was made by his predecessor Wilken. The main part of the collection was bought from the widow of Sir Robert Chambers ( ca. 800 items) in Oxford with the aid of Wilhelm von Humboldt."‎
