He issued a 109 part work on German insects in which each part consisted of a set of loose-leaf species descriptions. Each species was depicted on a plate, in it’s natural size and hand-coloured, and with an accompanying description leaf. The plates were drawn by Jacob Sturm.‎

Dru Drury (1725 - 1804), president of the London Society of Entomologists, published his Illustrations of Natural History from 1770 onwards. A second edition in three volumes was published in 1837. This is the first German edition.‎
