Apart from the fullpage frontispiece engraving the edition is illustrated with 124 in-text engravings measuring 165 x 217 mm and bound in after pp. 264 six engravings (192 x 240 mm) printed on three leaves . The engravings are made after designs of Picart, Lebrun, Punt a. o. and have been engraved by Bouché, Folkema, Van Gunst, Wandeleer a.o. Two vols, uniformly bound in full calf, Raised gilt spine, 7 bands, with lettering directly on spine leather, Board edges gilded with floral fillet. All edges sprinkle painted . Bindings in good order, showing minimal traces of wear at the extremities and the outer joints. Inside fine, printed on strong paper. The engravings in srtong fine impressions. (1st). The text is printed in two colums (Latin and Dutch next to each other). The book appeared also in a Latin/French and a Latin/English edition.
