Tokyo, Ogawa, s.d. (vers 1892). In-folio (41 x 30 cm), couverture de papier fort illustré, jaquette du distributeur, estampée d'un décor avec mention « Sole Agents Kelly and Walsh, Yokohama » au 1er plat (petits manques à la couverture, jaquette abîmée et doublée).
Rare. 12 planches de collotypes de photographies, 27 au total, prises par Ogawa lui-même. Bien complet de la rare et jolie jaquette de distribution, ornée d'un ukiyoe. Couverture légèrement usée avec un manque angulaire, une tache sur chaque plat, sinon bon exemplaire. Vingt planches d'après des photographies d'Ogawa, toutes avec des serpentes, représentant 46 scènes.

Couverture légèrement usée, un cordon détaché, bords de quelques planches salies, sinon bon exemplaire. Douze planches d'après des photographies d'Ogawa, toutes avec des serpentes et le titre de chaque image imprimé sur la serpente. Les titres indiquent le nom de chaque geisha ainsi que son quartier (neuf de Shinbashi, une de Yanagibashi, une de Nihonbashi et une de Yoshicho).

Dans ce volume : 1) Tea picking at Uji, 2) Old court dress, 3) Costume in former times of a daughter of the higher class, 4) Hair-dressing, 5) Battle-dore and shuttle-cock play, 6) Koto playing, 7) The art of flower arranging, 8) The ceremony of "Cha-no-yu." 9) Musical entertainment, 10) A Jinrikisha ride to the flower show, 11) Cotton-spinning and 12) Carpenters at work.

A model Japanese villa.
.: Tokyo, Japan, s.d. ca. 1900-1910 , oblong small folio, 29,5 x 37,5 cm, printed title and 15 leaves of colour printed photogravures, each leaf with a serpent and a caption in English, orig. gold-flecked endpapers, orig. Japanese paper covered boards, tied together with a purple coloured silk ribbon, covers a bit soiled and with an old waterstain in the lower left hand corner, very fine interior. Ogawa (1860 - 1930) was a master of the Japanese collotype. Here he depicts the house and the garden with the famous chrysanthemums collection of Count Okuma at Waseda.

Sights and Scenes in Fair Japan.
".: Tokyo, Imperial Government Railways, s.d. ( ca. 1910), oblong album, 27 x 37 cm, containing 2 maps and 50 colour-tinted collotype photographic plates. Bound in a modified Japanese-style album with silk covered boards. The embroidered silk boards show on the front cover the Fuji San with the title in red lettering and on the forefront a horseman with his servants. The album is kept together with a purple silk ribbon, with decorated endpapers, most of the loosely inserted serpents of very light japanese paper are present. All edges gilt. Kept in a heavy purposely made box covered with black leather. Finely preserved album with only some faint dustsoiling of the lighter silk parts of the cover, interior stainless, box with very minor traces of use. A fine specimen of an early travel souvenir of Japan made for the English speaking visitors by the foremost Japanese photographer Ogawa (1860 - 1929). The album was several times reprinted in less luxurious editions ; not all plates coloured , with plainer Western Style bindings. This is a scarce and beautiful item.
