‎Eduard Nolde (1849-1895) reiste 1893 von Damaskus aus nach Innerarabien. Auf einer weiter östlich führenden Route, als jene seiner Vorgänger Blunt, Huber und Euting, querte er die Nefud. Er erreichte das Lager des Wahhabiten-Herrschers Ibn Raschid. Danach zog er nach Mesopotamien, von Bagdad nach Trapezunt, danach retour nach Constantinopel. ‎
