Marpurgi (Marburg), ex officina typographica Pauli Egenolphi, 1596, in-8°, 16 x 10 cm, title with woodengraved vignette + 395 pp + (11)(index) nn pp + (2)(bl), old supple overlapping vellum , traces of green silk ties, last (blank) flyleaf a bit waterstained and with a tiny wormhole. Last pages with a faint waterstain in the upper margin (hardly noticeable). A nice copy. The author was from Lucca in Tuscany. There exists a Lucca edition of this text (1563). The author dedicates the first book to Pope Pius IV. The 'voluptate'' and the ''honore'' text is dedicated to Franciscus de Medici ruler of Florence and Siena. With the ex-libris ''Nordkirchen'' pasted on the first pastedown. (USTC 657542 ; Adams 317)."
