"Morris’s far more famous—and concretely realized—work from the same year, The Box with the Sound of its Own Making, would become the public structure that would generate, in Morris’s account, all the subsequent work" (Lis Kotz, in Make an object to be lost" 2012).

Vgl. Cherix, Estampes et multiples V1 - Typoskript des ursprünglich um 1960 geschriebenen Textes "From the subjective point of view there is no such thing as nothing - Blank Form shows this, as well as might any other situation of deprivation". Auf der Basis des 2. Thermodynamischen Satzes beschreibt Morris die Interaktion von Kunst/Künstler/Werk "Art is primarily a situation in which one assumes an attitude of reacting to some of one's awareness as art". The Explosion of Pop, Minimalism, and Performeance 1958-1964", New York 1984 S. 100-101 abgedruckt. GUYTON: Are you always involved in the making of reproductions? Or do you see some of these works more as instructions that can be carried out by someone else? A score or script? MORRIS: I am usually involved in the remaking of the large earlier works, but sometimes others draw up the plans or "score" from my instructions. I have purposely left definitive dimensions and surface color of the larger works open to variations, so a certain "indeterminate" aspect belies the definitive "original." L'édition Kelmscott de 1896 des uvres de Geoffrey Chaucer est aujourd'hui considérée comme un chef-d'uvre de conception éditoriale. minor folding tracks on the top of the spine of the dust-jacket which remains complete and fine, else fine copy, no markings, a very nice copy, profusingly illustrated, text in English, German and French
