‎L'un des grands chimistes de son temps, Karl Friedrich Mohr (1806-1879) améliore la burette, développe une pince spéciale (dite "pince de Mohr") et expose ses méthodes de titrage dans le présent ouvrage, qui sera recommandé par Justus von Liebig. Bon état.‎

La contribution la plus durable de Carl Friedrich Mohr était dans le titrage. Son livre a été le premier compendium réussi dans ce nouveau domaine de la chimie analytique. Mohr a inventé plusieurs nouvelles procédures de titrage et a examiné et souvent amélioré la plupart des plus anciennes. De nombreuses méthodes et conceptions d'appareils portent son nom. ‎First edition of Mohr’s important work on the economy and natural history of Iceland. “In 1780, the Faeroese naturalist, Nicolai Mohr (1742-90) was sent to Iceland specifically to investigate some of Olavius’ discoveries, such as graphite in Siglufjördur in the North which, it was believed, might be of economic significance. Mohr spent two summers in Iceland and travelled around the northern and eastern parts. He later wrote a book (the present) about his travels. MPhr concentrates on the economy and natural history of Iceland, but his book is written in the form of a travelogue, and his observations on all that he saw helped to build up a picture of conditions in Iceland at the time” (Caseldine, Iceland – Modern Processes and past Environments).‎

‎Facsimile reprint of the Danish edition of Mohr's Euclides Danicus, printed in Amsterdam 1672 (a Dutch edition was issued simultaneously). Also contains a German translation of the Danicus and a preface in German by Johannes Hjelmslev. Until 1928 Mascheroni was credited with being the first to prove that all the constructions in the first 6 books of Euclid's Elelements could be constructed with compass alone. Hjelmslev discovered that Mohr had proven this in his Danicus 125 years before Mascheroni.‎
