Danny Venlet werd geboren in Victoria, Australie, uit Nederlandse ouders. In 1984 studeerde hij af als interieurvormgever aan het St-Lucasinstituut voor Architectuur en Beeldende Kunsten te Brussel, waarna hij naar zijn geboorteland Australie terugkeerde en zich vestigde als onafhankelijk designer en interieurarchitect. Hij werkte er aan een reeks prestigieuze projecten, waarmee hij de internationale pers haalde. Sinds 1995 verblijft Venlet afwisselend in Belgie en Australie en werkt aan projecten over de hele wereld. Zo ontwierp hij in 2002 voor de 'Carte Blanche' collectie de 'Easy Rider', een mobiel object dat tegelijk stoel en tafel is en dat een minimum aan middelen verbindt met een maximum aan flexibiliteit, zowel wat positie in de ruimte als wat toepassingen betreft. Despite his reputation of being one of the world's best and most promising designers, the work of Danny Venlet (? 1958, Victoria, Australia) is one of the best kept secrets in the world of design. While this may partly have its reason in the fact that Venlet has been living and working in two opposed parts of the world, Australia and Belgium, it may also be explained by what largely defines the essence of his personality and work - modest, thriving on understatement, laidback and relaxed. Finally, there is the fact that Venlet - despite his being credited as the inventor of a curvy and more organic and humanising minimalism - does not cultivate one single style as designer and interior architect. People are his main material, and bring him each time to a different solution, teasing or pleasing, in order to make them change their attitudes or interact. De Belg Elric Petit, de Zwitser Gregoire Jeanmonod en de Fransman Augustin Scott de Martinville vormen samen Big-Game. Deze drie designers, die een passie delen voor de schoonheid van industrieel design, ontmoetten elkaar op de ECAL (Ecole cantonale d?art de Lausanne). Ze besloten om hun krachten te bundelen en samen een design studio op te richten, die sinds 2004 zowel in Brussel als in Lausanne gehuisvest is. Ze werkten reeds same met o.a.
