Romae ( Roma ) , apud Ioannem Mariam Salvioni Typographum Vaticanum, 1745, in-4°, x pp + 116 pp , title printed in red and black and with engraved vignette, with engraved vignettes and initials, bound in contemporary full vellum, ex-library with a small and a larger stamp on the title page, some dustsoiling and with a few minor holes or tears at the binding. Still a good/fine copy. Study on the history of the Roman Psalter published by the Vatican. The Psalterium Romanum was translated from the Greek around 383 A.D. by Hieronymus at the request of Pope Damasus I. Until the 14th century it was the most popular book of the Roman Catholic Church. It contained the 150 Old Testament Psalms. Text in Latin. Book in Latin. Good copy of the original first edition.
