Après la découverte du penicilline par Flemming en 1929, l'application clinique devenait pratiquable en 1943. (En 1945 il recevait le prix Nobel de la médecine pour ça.)(1945 wurde der Nobelpreis für Medizin dafür verliehen). Levaditi fut professeur à l'Institut Pasteur et membre de l'Academie de Médecine. ‎
