(Work Issued by The Hakluyt Society, Second Series: Vik. 101 & 102)Sir John Mandeville is the named claimed by the compiler of The Travels of Sir John Mandeville, an account of his supposed travels, written in Anglo-Norman French, and first circulated between 1357 and 1371.It is highly unreliable and despite of the fantastical nature of the described nature of the travels it describes it was used as a work of reference for Christopher Columbus in his travel descriptions.
