‎Le médecin, philosophe et humaniste Andrés Laguna de Segovia (1499-1559) étudia à Salamanque et à Paris. Il sera médecin du Pape Jules III, puis de Charles Quint et Philippe II. Cet ouvrage est son livre le plus fameux, dans lequel il commente le "De Materia Medica" du médecin grec Pedanius Dioscoride. Il y signale notamment les précédentes erreurs de la traduction de Dioscoride par Jean de la Ruelle. Etat très satisfaisant (dos muet, reliure lég. frottée, anc. mouill. dans la seconde partie de l'ouvrage). The doctor, philosopher and humanist Andrés Laguna de Segovia (1499-1559) studied in Salamanca and Paris. He will be physician to Pope Julius III, then to Charles V and Philip II. This work is his most famous book, in which he comments on the "De Materia Medica" of the Greek physician Pedanius Dioscorides.
