‎Rare first edition of Kortholt’s posthumously published work responsibilities and duties of church ministers, providing guidance on pastoral care and ecclesiastical conduct Christian Kortholt “an eminent Lutheran Church historian, was born at Burg, in the island of Femern, Denmark, Jan. 15th, 1632. His studies, commenced at Schleswig, were continued in the universities of Rostock, Jena, Leipsic, and Wittenberg. In 1662 he became professor of Greek at Rostock, where he was made D.D. He was afterwards called to the professorship of theology at Kiel by the duke of Holstein-Gottorp, and in 1666 became vice- chancellor of that university.
