EDITION ORIGINALE rare. C'est le premier et le plus célèbre livre du poète péruvien J.S. Chocano ( 1875-1934). Hommage à l'Amérique latine, à ses paysages, ses volcans, fleuves, forêts, à sa faune et à sa flore, aux mœurs des indigènes, aux trésors des Incas, etc. Le recueil est dédié au roi Alphonse XIII d'Espagne. Préface de Miguel de Unamuno. PREMIER LIVRE ILLUSTRÉ PAR JUAN GRIS. 69 compositions dont 1 à pleine page, 2 illustr. de couverture. Cette illustrations est particulièrement intéressante, car bien que très influencée par l'Art nouveau elle préfigure déjà certaines tendances cubistes. En 1906 Juan Gris a 19 ans. Après la publication de ce livre, la même année, il quittera l'Espagne pour Paris. Exemplaire non coupé, avec le très rare f. d'errata.‎
