Rare ensemble de deux catalogues déchantillons dépoque Medji de tissus japonais destinés à la confection de kimonos. Les catalogues sont constitués de feuillets de papier japon calligraphiés à lencre noire sur lesquels sont fixés 1 à 4 échantillons de tissus de textures diverses, imprimés peints ou tissés, présentant des motifs très variés d'inspiration végétale ou géométrique, certains cousus de fil dor. Superbe collection réunissant plus de 200 échantillons. 2 oblong volumes 4to (270 x 350 mm) comprising: I. [35] ff; II. [45] ff of Japanese paper calligraphied in recycled black ink, containing one or more samples of fabrics of various textures and patterns. (worm damage in the paper). Contemporary cardboard covers sewn with string. Rare set of two contemporary Medji catalogs of Japanese fabric samples intended for kimono making. The catalogs consist of sheets of Japanese paper inscribed in black ink, to which are attached 1 to 4 fabric samples of various textures, printed, painted, or woven, featuring a wide variety of plant- or geometric-inspired patterns, some sewn with gold thread. A superb collection of over 200 samples.
