‎Grundmayr war Beneficiat und Ceremoniar zu St. Peter in München. Er war heftiger Gegner der französischen Enzyklopädisten u. wurde deshalb 1811 auf Befehl von Napoleon verhaftet und erst 1816 aus der Festung Oberhaus bei Passau entlassen. (ADB X, 36.). ‎
