‎Sehr seltene Erstausgabe mit dem korrekten Datum 1618 (Das Ander Buch: H.R. Von Graffenriedt. M.DC.XVIII). Graffenrieds Biograf Egger stellte bereits 1896 fest: „wohl nur selten mehr zu finden“. Graffenried studierte Arithmetik und Astronomie im Selbststudium; seine Arithmeticae Logisticae, „zu Unrecht ignoriert“ (Schärlig), ist vollständiger und reicher - nicht zuletzt wegen der unzähligen Beispiele - als viele der von ihm zitierten Quellen. J. H. Graf stellt in seiner Studie über Graffenried fest, dass es sich um das führende Werk zur Mathematik in Süddeutschland des frühen 17. Jahrhunderts handelt. „Und viele seiner Regeln sind auch eine Orginalität. Man darf also der Meinung sein, er sei mit Unrecht quasi unbekannt. Er hat (fast) alle damals vorhandenen Bücher fleißig studiert. Und auch wenn er sich mehr oder weniger als Kompilator vorstellt, muß man feststellen, daß er dennoch ein sehr vollständiges und bemerkenswertes Werk hinterlassen hat. Es ist nicht übertrieben zu sagen, daß man seine arithmetische Logistik als das Hauptwerk in diesem Gebiet in Süddeutschland zu Anfang des 17. J. H. Graf, in his study of Graffenried, states that it is the leading work on mathematics in southern Germany in the early 17th century. „And many of his rules are also orginal. One may therefore think that he is unjustly quasi-unknown. He diligently studied (almost) all the books available at the time. And even if he presents himself more or less as a compiler, it must be said that he nevertheless left behind a very complete and remarkable body of work.
